The company announced Monday it intends to launch an online casino betting brand in 2021 pending approval from the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario.

"As an Ontario-based media business and trusted brand for greater than 128 years, we consider Torstar will present a singular and responsible gaming model that creates new jobs, presents progress for the Ontario economy, and generates new tax income to assist help necessary packages in our province," stated Corey Goodman, Chief Corporate Development Officer at Torstar, in a press release.

At current, the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation is the only operator no deposit no rules bonus authorized to supply online gambling in Ontario.

But the Ontario authorities promised to open up the market to personal operators in its most latest budget, enacting laws that provides the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario the authority to concern licences to non-public companies.
